FAQs

What is Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)?

It is a highly effective treatment for people who have and are still suffering with pain every day of their lives.

Is IMS in fact a form of Acupuncture?

IMS is only related to acupuncture in that it uses the same needles. It enhances and updates acupuncture with anatomy and neurophysiology. Knowledge of anatomy and medical diagnosis and examination are crucial to IMS.

Can IMS cure pain?

Yes it can cure pain. Results can be immediate and can last for up to 20 years.

Is IMS a painful treatment?

When an acupuncture needle is inserted into a normal muscle then there will be no sensation felt. If a needle is inserted into a muscle that has shortened then they will experience a dull ache like a cramping sensation and this is known as a good pain. This will result in a lowering of their pain and healing of the body.
